While it would be impossible in this training to offer suggestions for every type of threat, we can go over some general suggestions for improving your safety and security.

While it may be very uncomfortable to challenge, minor incidents of harassment can build up to more serious abuse and possible attacks if not challenged. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, it is harassment. Ask the person(s) to stop, document it and if needed, report it.

Understand at a deep level that women can be as strong as men (or stronger). Typically, not in muscle mass, instead in their ability to overcome challenges and endure hardship. Understanding how strong you are is key to addressing the threats you may face.
[/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=”Tip #3″ open_toggle_background_color=”RGBA(0,0,0,0)” closed_toggle_text_color=”#231f20″ closed_toggle_background_color=”RGBA(0,0,0,0)” _builder_version=”4.9.10″ _module_preset=”default” title_text_color=”#231f20″ title_font=”OpenSans-Regular|700|||||||” title_font_size=”20px” closed_title_font=”OpenSans-Regular|700|||||||” custom_margin=”-30px|-220px||-20px|false|false” custom_css_toggle_content=”padding: 10px 20px 10px 20px;||margin-top: 20px;||background: #ffffff;||border: 1.5px solid #dbdede;||text-align:left;” border_color_all=”RGBA(0,0,0,0)” global_colors_info=”{}” closed_toggle_background_color__hover=”RGBA(0,0,0,0)”]
As the world becomes increasingly digital, be very aware of your online footprint. Harassment, targeting and even physical violence can be a result of too much personal information or accessibility being available online. Learn to protect your ‘virtual’ life as much as your real one.
[/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=”Tip #4″ open_toggle_background_color=”#FFFFFF” closed_toggle_text_color=”#231f20″ closed_toggle_background_color=”#FFFFFF” _builder_version=”4.9.10″ _module_preset=”default” title_text_color=”#231f20″ title_font=”OpenSans-Regular|700|||||||” title_font_size=”20px” closed_title_font=”OpenSans-Regular|700|||||||” custom_margin=”-30px|-220px||-20px|false|false” custom_css_toggle_content=”padding: 10px 20px 10px 20px;||margin-top: 20px;||background: #ffffff;||border: 1.5px solid #dbdede;||text-align:left;” border_color_all=”RGBA(0,0,0,0)” global_colors_info=”{}”]
Understand each threat you face and mentally prepare for it. Where men often respond to threats with counter threats (i.e. fighting back or posturing), women need to be smarter and more prepared. If threatened, freezing up in fear puts you at greater risk. Mental strength is key.
